At the time, the kittens were only about 3 weeks old. A lady bought them and brought them to the shelter. Hillary is about 5 years old.

Martin. Martin was one of four kittens found behind a business complex in southeast Fresno. Two NSPA volunteers spent several weeks trapping the four kittens, a mom and dad. Martin, approximately 4 months old at the time and was wild. He is now a very sweet, lovable and adoptable cat of 4-5 years of age.
Oreo Oreo was tossed out of a car as a kitten into the path of our founder's son. Oreo is now a resident of the sanctuary.
Miss Peaches is a beautiful small orange Tabby. She is sweet but independent. If you are bending over, she has now problem taking her place on your back. Peaches periodically has some skin problems especially in the heat.
Peanut is a large, handsome tabby of about 4 years of age. He is very loving and friendly and sometimes comes when he hears his name. He was named for the markings on his belly which resembled Mr. Peanut when he was a kitten. Peanut loves to be brushed and is very adoptable.
Pearlie (Mae): This beautiful silver tabby is a real eye catcher. Pearlie is one of seven cats brought from the Carruthers area. She remains somewhat frightened of humans but is frequently seen near the house.
Pippi was brought to the shelter from the mountains as a stray. She was very ill as a kitten and in maturity is quite small. She has continued to have health problems as an adult. Although she has special needs, she would be a wonderful pet. Pippi is 4 years old.
Troubles One and Stretch were among the first cats to come live at NSPA. They had a home but the people were no longer able to care for them. This young lady is fairly friendly.
Little Shaver and Tioga. These two delightful kittens were born at the shelter in the spring of 2002. Their mother is Sierra, so they were given names related to hers. Tioga is black with some white markings and Little Shaver is a tabby. They are currently the youngest residents of the shelter.
Tiger Tiger and her 4 kittens were living with an elderly lady who had hip surgery and was unable to care for them. We think she was born in 1996.
Tiny once had a home. However, he and Beezley were brought to the shelter when their owner moved to an apartment and could not afford the pet deposit. The young man does visits his former pets once in awhile. Tiny is quite handsome and very friendly.
Velvet: This beautiful black with white markings was abandoned in 2004 at the shelter along with her kitten, Pudge. Pudge has since been adopted. Velvet is very sweet and loving and would be a wonderful pet.
Yogi. Yogi was a stray found in a backyard as a kitten. The people who brought him to the shelter believed someone threw him in their backyard. Yogi is 4 years old, very loving and would make a most enjoyable pet.

Zen: When they are together, Zen and her mother Tess are look alikes. Once they are walking it is easier to tell them apart as Zen is taller with a shorter tail. Zen would really like to have her very own family.
