Welcome to 'Not So' Purrrfect Angels, A Non-Profit, Humane Organization and Sanctuary for Purrrfect Felines and their friends. 'Not So' Purrrfect Angels was established in 1996, when founders Janice Rozzano, Lynda Key and Cathi Dolan realized the existing shelters were just not able to handle the number of homeless cats in this area. We are a "grass roots" organization and we are operated by an all Volunteer Board of Directors and an all Volunteer staff.

We are located among the vineyards just outside the Fresno, CA city limits on 3.9 acres. We care for felines and their friends up to approximately 300 at any given time. Currently we are surrounded by vineyards, which contribute to the serene atmosphere of the sanctuary. When NSPA was created it was done in a manner where homeless and abused felines could live out their lives comfortably, with protected outdoor access and a variety of stimulants to keep them active and young.

Our cats are "cage free" unless ill or waiting to be spayed or neutered. They have access to the residence and a very large outdoor area complete with air-conditioned/heated outbuildings, trees to climb and grass to run through. Most of our cats come in from the streets, abandoned by their owners. We do work with some of the outlying "kill shelters" when we have room, saving many lives from certain death. Some of our cats come from individuals who have passed away or are having to move into an assisted living situation or nursing home. All cats are spayed and neutered, tested for Feline Aids and Leukemia and vaccinated.

We have a wonderful area for our FIV - Aids cats. They have a large outdoor area with beautiful plants and vines to hide under and stay cool, grass, beautiful shade and climbing trees and two insulated, air-conditioned/heated buildings. Please see Ruby's Garden for pictures of this wonderful area. These 'angels' come to us from all over the state and as far away as Texas. We can easily care for up to 60 cats in Ruby's Garden however, we usually keep it at 20-25 cats.

We also have a smaller area for FeLv - Leukemia cats. This area has a small "house", with a fenced front yard and back deck. We are only able to house around 6 in that area. We hope to expand the Leukemia house, "Angels Crossing" in the near future.
